You’ve heard of Girl Math.
Please allow me to introduce
you to Freelancer Math™.
Hiring a freelancer makes great fiscal
sense. Let’s do the math together.
for freelancers
for clients

There are people who scoff when they learn what freelancers charge per hour.
They probably do a quick calculation of what that would cost their business on a 40-hour, 52-week salary, and think that what we’re asking is preposterous.
I say "probably", but this is a fact - I've had people do this on discovery calls.
It gets awkward.
There are so many benefits to hiring a freelance creative
This way of thinking is not only irrelevant (you're not hiring us full time, so why are you doing this equation?), but it also ignores the many benefits to hiring a creative freelancer that make our rates well worth it:
Available on demand: Someone out sick? Influx of work that you hadn’t planned for? Put me in, coach! I'm a great team player and will help get your projects over the line.
Senior talent: You benefit from our experience with other brands, but don’t have to front the bill for the overhead costs of full service agencies.
Get what you pay for: When you work with a freelancer, you're not paying for water cooler talk, all-hands meetings, personal development, or benefits like vacation and sick leave. You'll only pay for our time worked/productivity.
Less commitment: If things aren’t working out or you don’t need our ongoing support, there's no need to involve HR. Give us enough notice and we'll wrap things up and say our goodbyes with no hard feelings. It's part of the deal.
P.S. Full timers who are thinking of making the leap to freelance, Freelancer Math™ is for you, too. More on this soon…
